I'd hope you were wrong, but it sounds like the voice of experience speaking, just waiting for GM to do it to us one more time. Ford leads, GM follows-- T'bird in what, '55? Vette 2-seater follows in 56, IIRC Mustang, 641/2, Camaro in 67-

GM has lost it's rudder- you can't buy a basic car, only some plastic star-wars crap. Or, a truck- Why can I buy a full sized RWD Ford, a V-8 RWD Chrysler, or a GM 2 seater? Think of the Solstice and a GM version Miata- almost as good, 400 lb heavier, but with that sumptous plastic interior....

You could forgive the occaissional Aztek if they had a good solid line-up to fall back on, but they don't. Some of the Cadillacs are mildly interesting, but not in my percieved price range. The HHR? Come on!

Yeah, AMC stock isn't worth much, but they did build a couple cool rides- AMX, big block Javelins, I liked the styling of the Marlin for the time- Probably the LeCar renault crap is what did 'em in

Some updated pics from the actual auto show:

This one has a video of Lutz talking. Haven't listened to it yet, but it shows a bit of the interior.

I like the line that includes "V8" and "$20,000."

If they're even talking like that, I have to think
that no matter what, some models should be available
for less than DC's LX models. And weigh less too!

Terriffic talk everyone -- Andy ---Thanks for the Links.

You got to be kidding me.
I have been waiting since 72 for the Big 3.
To get back into the action with Style and Performance.

1) Drop dead Georgeous - "Challenger - 425 horse Hemi - Pistol Grip Stick".
2) Ford got their shit together with the Mustang.
3) Rebirth of the Camaro
4) Z06 Corvette
5) GTO Drivetrain - Have to do something with the current Bodystyle. biggrin.gif

The Powerfull 5.7 liter Lt1 Engine and drivetrain gave me hope back in the early 90ties.

bowdown.gif Dodge --- Please - Please -- Start building the Knock out Challenger Coupe your teasing us with.
To make this old Hot Rodder Happy.

I"ve been bored to death since the 80ties with the Big 3.
Taking away what I have enjoyed.
And ramming FWD - Underpowered - Ugly
Point A to B cars down our Throats.
