QUOTE(Wild Willy @ Oct 14 2005, 10:41 AM) My sister used to be a sucker for small, under-powered cars. Well maybe if she was better at it or a shrewd bidness person she coulda gotten money for it instead... |

yes it is a 126 model
however they wre never had into front wheel drive in late 80's early 90's they made a new version with a motor mounted sideways flat and a rear door which made in a hatchback called BIS. When I was born my dad picked me up from a hospital in one of those cars (a little different trim and so on), he just piecked up the car a day earlier. The motors where .650litre in size and the later one with the hatch may have .750litre motor The trans had no sync in first gear ever, it was cool do do dougnuts in snow however. The motor was so tiny my dad had a spare in a walkway and you could easily pick it up with one person. Wat's strange about this model is it was a export model left side rule. Now I did see pics of two fiat 126p doing massive burnouts which claim to have a SBC 350 in it. No idea where they fitted it. there is a video on the net of a turquoise one that someone modded to have two motors, two trannies, two steering wheels and they drive it 'backward' on the street, people are going nuts here below is one from the 70's era http://www.motorbase.com/profiles/vehicle/...001;p=620674766 my dad had one with same body color that thing had manual windshield wiper meaning you'd push on a rubber button in the center of the dash and it would squirt water. |
