If you could choose a car project for yourself what would it be? What would it consist of? How would you spec it out? What would you put into it? Just trying to make sure everyone understands what i am asking wink.gif

Seeing is how i posted this thread.i'll go first....Keep in mind that my car would be a spring, summer, and fall daily driver.

*Car i would choose: 1991 Ford Crown Victoria P72 (Police package)
*Motor: eather a 5.0 H.O. (Mustang) or a 5.8 H.O. (F-150 Lightning) eather motor would be lightly modded...
*Transmission: HD Auto w/ shift kit,med stall, mustang servo.
*Rear end: stock 8.8 posi w/ 3.73 gears
*Suspension: pretty much stock w/ a few upgrades
*Exhaust: long tube headers,Off road or catted X pipe duals, w/ quiet flow mufflers (i don't really like loud exhaust) I like to hear a nice "vwooooot" when i get on the throttle biggrin.gif

Well thats what i'd like to build someday, how bout you? I may post another project car later.Their are a few i'd like to build

My SS is my project car.

I really need to clean out my old garage so if you need a 351 (complete, with the desirable '95 roller block) or disc brake rear for your project let me know!

Dan,

Nice choice in vehicles.
I always liked those body style Crown Vics.

[Photo below from LISST's Car Show this year)

My Chevelle - "Gray Ghost" looked very similiar to this one at the car show on Long Island.

In 1982 I picked up a 1968 Chevelle for a daily driver.

Blew a hole in Piston #7,
It was a Junkyard 307 Chevy V-8 engine that was installed when I bought the car.
The owner that I bought the car off of thought bonk.gif the garage installed a 327 V-8 Engine.

Worked that I did back then.

Yanked a Small Block Chevy 350 V-8 4 bolt main Engine out of 1970 Chevy Caprice.
Delivered the Engine to DPS machine shop for a complete machining and balancing.

I Installed:

Performance Camshaft.
202 Small Block Chevy heads.
30 over Forged Pistons - Higher Compression
GM Corvette Aluminum High Rise Intake
4 Barrel 650 Holley Double Pumper Carburator
GM HEI Ignition
Hooker Long Tube Headers
2.5" Turbo Mufflers & Dual Exhaust.
Shift Kit in Turbo 400 Tranny
GM 12 bolt Rear Axle and Posi
Lakewood Ladder Bars
GM Chevelle SS Hood
60 Series BFG Tires and Chrome Mag Rims

Bought a 1972 Black Chevelle SS Interior from Gary Meier.
Buckets - Console Floor shifter

My 68 Chevelle,
Got totaled on the NYS Thruway with my buddy driving in 1985.

Second Car I worked on for a Daily Driver.
Purchased in 98 from the New York State Thruway --- Big Bad Blue - 95 9c1 Lt1

Did all your typical bolt on mods to this vehicle,
that everyone did to their new 94,95,96 Impala SS.

Rebuilt 4L60e with Shift Kit
Higher Stall Torq Converter
Complete Rear Axle rebuild with 3:73 gears and posi
SLP Headers & Dual Exhaust

Bryan Herter PCM tuning on the DYNO.

4 items installed by our Mod Master -- Gary Meier
GM Z28 Cluster
GM Caddy Flash to pass
GM Factory Cruise Contol
Gary's Gas gauge calibrator.

Brake Bolt and Stainless steel braided hoses.
Big Daddy Art Funk's Blue LED Bowtie
6 way Power 60/40 9c1 HD SEO front power seats
GM AM/FM/CD Player
OEM SUNGATE Windshield.
Suspension and steering system rebuild
Bilstein shocks.
GM Impala SS springs.
295-50-15" tires on the rear axle

Plenty of other stuff I did with 11 years ownership. lildevil.gif

Unfortunately,

14 years of winter driving has destroyed the undercarriage of this Chevrolet with Rust.
Our Sons Mike and Steve also enjoy driving this old Chevy with 209,750 miles.

My days of going all out on modifying vehicles is winding down.

laugh.gif This ole body does not enjoy laying on the concrete floor all day any more.

You always post the best replys Jon bowdown.gif

I have always loved that NYSP Caprice of yours, esp with them wide ass tires in the back.

From the sounds of it that ol' Chevelle of yours flat out hauled ass.......

Years ago i had a 1984 olds cutlass supreme that was beefed up quite well.

*1970's 350 Rocket motor
*350 turbo trans w/med stall and shift kit
*3 step up cam
*quadrajet 4 barrel carb (don't remember the cfm)
*long tube headers w/ strait pipe dual exhaust
*Suspension was stock (fail) V6 suspension.....
*Rear end was also stock (fail) V6 rear and gears

All in all the car was quick as shit and could lay rubber all day long. However, the suspension was ass.I could take just about anyone in a strait line.Get me on the curves tho and it was game over lol.Heck even a 4 cyl car could have wooped my ass with the weak ass suspension i had.

So basicly the two biggest weak points of the car was suspension and rear end.

If I won the lotto, I'm not sure if I'd go for a '60s fastback Mustang, or a '70s Trans Am. Probably the Mustang. As for what I'd do with it, since I don't know much about Ferds, I'd have to do some homework. Of course, the daily Summer driver would be a stick shift 'vette... Don't really need to mod that.
