Gary's the man. Gary's the man! GARY'S THA MOTHERF***ING MAN!

OK, enough ass-kissing for now. Hey, if anyone's coming from the Boston area or north and won't be staying over on Saturday then feel free to hook up with Chris McCabe and I. We'll be riding down together on Sunday morning. Send me an e-mail and we'll figure out where to meet up.

Yeah that would have been terrible Chris.

Driving 3 hours or so from Long Island, NY to Albany, NY and then finding out when you where in town you had to drive all the way over to the State of Rhode Island to attend this driving school.

Gary and UNYISSO have been wanting to do something like this for over a year now.

I am really proud of Gary pulling this off with our friend Kevin L. who many guys have meet at Key Motors over the years.

Guys have a great time at this event - Kevin is a professional driver and wish I was able to attend to hammer on Big Bad Blue.

I am sure Chris would and anybody else on the forum.

I can hear it now coming home from Rhode Island if i went.

Brenda guess what -

My animal was the Drivers Ed car and the gang beat the sh&% out of it so it looks like I need new tires and a brand new 383 stroker.

I will just keep dreaming - someday- someday for a 383.

We're trying to help you out for the stroker there John!

Chris was generous enough to volunteer to take my gold car down the track at NYIRP this past weekend on account his 9c1 being offline because of a radiator torn up by the electric fan when the bearings finally let loose.

I really didn't want to impose on him like that!

Dave, as I watched my position in the ECIRS points chase dwindle away I would have taken a good humour truck down the strip if Karl had let me.
As for the damage done to my 9C1 it was more of a victim of my schedule then my racing. If I had enough time to properly take care of all the little things that tend to get neglected than that fan that had a slight wobble 15,000 miles ago would have been replaced and never would have bit my radiator like that.
I look forward to seeing some more of your photos of my car leaving the line again soon. If not maybe it will be me taking a picture of you working the tree in that Gold beast of yours.
Incidently your car was looking super nice on saturday. biggrin.gif

Thanks Chris, I really enjoy getting the chance to take pictures like that. I hope to see you back on the line real soon...It looks like I'm only going to be able to make one of the last 3 races. I'm planning to be at LVD on October 4th, I was really hoping to be at Englishtown on the 24th because that's going to be the big double points finale where anything can happen. A close friend of mine is getting married (Lucky #4) Oct 25th and I'm going to the wedding.

Thanks for the compliments on the car... credit really goes to Gary Meier and Craig Jasmin for their efforts, all I did was think it up...well, and wash it...biggrin.gif

Those guys that were at the UNYISSO Mod Day at Key Motors in February will remember Leonard Motorsports' Kevin Leonard was there and showed a really cool video tape of some Clown Vics doing some stunt driving. Some guys were able to chat for a bit with Kevin about putting together a one day performance driving class for us. Kevin has been involved with Land Rover, the Joey Chitwood Thrill Show, and Hummer (among others). I have been in contact with Kevin for several months now, and he asked me to let everyone know what he has been able to put together for us as a club.

Located in North Kingstown, Rhode Island (which is about 1/2 hour south of Providence right on the shore) is Advanced Driving & Security, Inc. These are the people who Kevin has put this package together with. Here is a clip from their site www.1adsi.com :
"ADSI is an internationally recognized advanced driving school, specialized in training Security Drivers, Executive Protection Teams and hosting many Corporate Fleet Safety programs. Our lead instructor staff is made up of Tony Scotti?s first generation instructors. We have the ability to design and implement courses for a wide audience, specializing in Corporate Security and Law Enforcement training. We have also worked with Executive Protection Teams, Governments and Heads of State throughout 28 countries spanning five continents. ADSI?s realistically intense and science-oriented training approach has been a proven success for over 2 decades by professional security drivers."

The package that Leonard Motorsports and ADSI have put together for us is as follows:

A one day course (either a Saturday or Sunday) from 9AM to 5PM. The morning session will be classroom instruction with video and lecture. The afternoon session will be actual driving in YOUR OWN CAR! How cool is this? Where else can you get training in your own vehicle. You won't be doing spins and a full blown EVOC course, so you won't be needing to replace your tires twice that day (this course will be 'tire friendly').

Topics that will, be covered in the instruction are: slalom, backing, ABS, lane changes, brake & turn. Pricing for the course will be $235 per vehicle, based on a minimum of 10 cars attending. The dates available at this time are: August 30 or 31 and September 6 or 7. I would like to be able to let Kevin Leonard know by Wednesday July 23rd who is committed to attending, as both Kevin's and ADSI's schedules are filling up quickly.

For those guys that have interest in more instruction (or specialized instruction) please contact Kevin Leonard to see what additional courses are offered.

I was very fortunate to attend a one day Winter driving course with Kevin Leonard this past Winter. His professionalism and experience are top notch. I know his performance classes will be outstanding also.

You can find out more about Kevin Leonard and his Performance Driving School at http://www.leonardmotorsports.net/
Please direct any questions regarding this program, or any other courses offered to Kevin Leonard at: leonardmotorsport@yahoo.com
Do not contact ADSI for specifics on the class, as Leonard Motorsports has put together this course specifically for us.

Thanks,

Gary Meier
UNYISSO

Hey Guys have a fun time next weekend for this upcoming UNYISSO event run by our Mod Master Gary Meier and performance driver Kevin Leonard in the State of Rhode Island.

Looks like a few UNYISSO -- Badassof NE -- LISST members are going to have a great time.

Hopefully some one in the performance driving school can take photos to share with the rest of the guys that wish they could attend.

Dan (and everyone else),

I made a reservation for Saturday night (9/6) at the:

Wickford Motor Inn
7650 Post Rd. North Kingstown, RI
401 884 2230

I just called there a few minutes ago, and they only have one double room left. They are just about booked up that weekend. The good news is that the rates have dropped to only $65 + tax for the double room that is left ($72.80 total).

I really have no idea where anyone is staying (for those that aren't driving early Sunday morning) as I have been away for the last two weekends and kind of off the forum. I think Dave Wilson is taking the other bed in my room so we can split the cheap room rate.

I had posted all the hotel info and driving directions I had on the second page of this thread (down at the bottom of the second page). Since I left the hotel/motel arrangements up to each and everyone to decide, I don't know who is driving there early Sunday and who is staying where for Saturday night. But, I hope everyone has managed to make arrangements to get there for Sunday morning either way.

I can't wait for Sunday banana.gif

Hey guys-

I gotta say, it was an awesome time at the school!

I started a new thread in the Glove Compartment section for all our recap stuff!
