With the help of a couple of guys, I installed Hotchkiss rear control arms (stock length uppers and lowers), a beefy Herb Adams rear sway bar, and some inside the coil airbags. We took a couple of pictures, I'll post just a couple.

This picture is the Herb Adams (above) and the stock 9C1 (below).

Here is a picture of the Hotchkiss lower control arm, Herb Adams sway bar, Bilstein (boxy) shock, and the airlift airbag. Took about 2-1/2 hours for two of us to install the control arms, sway bar, and the airbags. I haven't driven the car too much since the install, but I can say that I should have done the airbags before this past Summer's vacation travel. Just a little air keeps the trunk full of tools and parts (and luggage) from sagging.

Gary - Thanks for the photo's.

Thats one beefy rear sway bar which I also have on my Impala ss.

I can remember when you and I found the sway bars,Hotchkis control arms and many other parts.

You are going to love the handling on the highway turns with these bars which makes our heavy cars feel like they lost 1000lbs and turn them into slot cars like a Corvette.

I have to thank my LISST club years ago with their GP for the front and rear sway bars from Matt Adams in California.

It took 4 months to get the bars from Matt - son of Herb Adams who designed the bars.

All Herb Adams customers in the B-body community Nationwide suffered the overdue waiting for these bars to be delivered in 98,97,96. ohmy.gif

This was the talk of the town on the brand new forums back then.

Great performing sway bar from the former General Motors Pontaic Super Duty 455 Transam suspension Engineer

Gary, Did you install the front bar already?

I heard if you have to have both bars installed so the car will handle properly.

Enjoy the new handling performance .

Wow, that looks like a ton of work for one day! That is one hell of a sway bar! I can't wait to hear a field test report after you get a chance shake it down.

nice job!

DW,

Yea we hustled to get a bunch of work done last night. First was the work on the rear of my DCM 9C1, then after PIZZA we tore the Z28 completely apart.

BTW, I have a 3.42 posi Z28 rear for sale...as well as a bunch of other F-body parts. The complete interior is sold, but I have the perfect rear bumper (cover and support), hatch, driver door, and passenger window available. If anyone has a friend that needs any of the F-body parts, please have them email me at gmeier1@nycap.rr.com

Gary thanks for offering the Z28 Parts to the Northeast clubs.

I figured you would have a few parts left over after you removed the parts you wanted.

John,

I am planning on rehabbing the entire front end of my car soon. I want to get all that stuff done before my car goes into hibernation in November. I will install the Herp Alpert front sway bar at that time.

Mike Just Scroll back to the beginning of this post.

Photos of the bar installed on Gary's Pennsylvania 9c1 State Police Cruiser.

Gary OK that sounds like a plan.

If nobody else wants to go in on the GP for the front end rebuild kits maybe you and I can deal with Zack together.

See you at the dragstrip Saturday.

Thanks

Here's a few more pictures on the Hotchkiss control arms as compared to the wimpy stock units.
