It’s that time of year again, folks!
The ECIRS Double Points Finale will take place on November 14, 2009. This illustrious event will once again be held at Old Bridge Township’s Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ. Gates open at 10:00am EST. The Raceway Park website can provide directions and info on area hotels for those of you who are unfamiliar with the track (not many folks would fit into this category, but just in case): http://www.racewaypark.com/ This event is also the 9th annual POSSI Drag Day, and is once again proudly sponsored by our friends at: They provide the best bang-for-your-buck modification for your B-body, as well as many other vehicles - even if they’re bone stock. More horsepower and better MPG - can’t beat that! Please visit them for all your tuning needs. Event details: November 14, 2009 Gates open at 10:00 am Time trials begin at 11:00 am Eliminations begin at 1:00 pm We'll have two staging lanes to work with, as usual. The plan is to have 3 time trials prior to elimination rounds. As we all know, unforeseen factors (breakage, spills on the track, etc) may reduce the amount of time trial runs - prepare accordingly. First round pairing will be determined by the tower based upon reaction time in the final time trial run. The rest of the ladder will also be determined by the tower. This will eliminate any guesswork, arguments, questions, etc. As the tradition goes, POSSI will be awarding trophies for the following: First Place Second Place Runner Up (2) Best Reaction Time I’ll post up pics of the trophies soon…as soon as I have them, that is! In addition, the coveted ECIRS plaque will be awarded to the winner. POSSI will also be providing bottled water and snacks for your drinking and snacking pleasure. And, let’s not forget the 50/50 drawing - cold hard cash will be up for grabs! There will be plenty of excitement in the air…less than 100 points now separate the top 15 going into the Finale. The 2009 title is up for grabs…who will take the crown? Don’t wait to read about it on the forum - show up and race, or just hang out - either way, be there, and be a part of ECIRS racing history! Let the trash talking begin! |

Thanks Dean for the Update, http://www.impalassforum.com/vBulletin/sho...1523&page=8 I'm reading the ECIRS Digest for the final Championship Drag Race date since the ISSF is up and down. I was planning on attending the Race in Englishtown this Saturday, to see who will be crowned the Champion for 2009. It also rained all day here in Albany from the Storm out in the Atlantic. So my family and I headed Southwest to Ithaca College for a Football Game, Against Cortland State which our Son Mike plays for. It was Nice to watch the College Game in the Packed Butterfield Stadium and Staying Dry. Ithaca Bombers Won 23 - 20. http://cortlandfootball.com/2009Ithaca.htm Wutz This post has been edited by Heavy Chevy 95: Nov 20 2009, 12:49 AM |

Also congradulations to Rob Hamilton Sr. for being crowned as the 2009 ECIRS series Champion!!
-Couldn't of been a better day for anyone. Weather was perfect, thanks to some persuasion from Stormin Normin we were able to sneak in 3 time trails. The turn out of cars was roughly 30 or more but only 30 raced. -Paul R. (Area 51) broke, Nabil had to leave before the first round which meant that after the first round 5 top ten competitors of the ECIRS points series were knocked out. This left room for others to sneak into the top ten towards the end of the day. -But once again congrads to Mr. Hamilton, you deserve this win and Championship after putting almost 9 years of hard coar racing under your belt!! -We should have some pictures/videos up on here soon. -Robbie (P.S- He's still in shock!) |

Number of downloads: 0 Next run to Schalers is on me - Plus a beer! Congrats! Thanks, sorry I haven't posted sooner, been on the road alot. 4,200 miles and averaged 15.2 mpg with 3/4's of the miles being towing. What a blast. Nice to go on the road and not have to worry about getting back in time to rest up and go to work!! Love being retired where I can still do crap like this and not get overwhelmed. The car weathered about as much as the driver did for all those miles. The ECIRS championship and Atlanta Class "C" were just icing on the cake for a worry-free road trip. That car has been on the road so much lately and not having any down time that it started to show at the last race in Maryland. I was under the car more that in it. Lost 2 headder bolts on the driver side, a nut on the passenger side cat (straight pipe) and the muffler on the driver side came apart??? WTF and the driver side cat came loose as well. Burned up 2 sets of tires, could not get traction to save my life, looked at my tires and the cords were showing all the way around. Guess I was lucky not to blow one on the track. The car did run the fastest ever at Cecil, even with crappy short times. Turned a 12.12 at 110 mph, also had a 12.17 at 109.8 mph. Can't complain too much for not getting it on the lift once in a while. Oh yeah, a hamburger is looking real good right about now!! |
