Mikey fixed the car. He said the snap ring came off the servo. He said it was in a tight spot next to the cats in this tunnel. He heard it snap back into place. He took it out 2 separtate times today and says she is cruising nice.

At the same time he is telling me to take it easy and stay local. He sounds like it may happen again.

Question ::::: If he got it back into place and heard it snap..... should it be back to normal or. !!!!!

Any comments from the Pro's ?????

Kenny,

I think your tranny servo should be OK.

As long as the snap ring is in good shape and the groove the Snap ring is seated in,
Is clean and not damaged

You should ask one of the UNYISSO/RAISSE tranny experts from Central New York.

My advice for not getting stranded again with your Chevy.

Your mechanic probably just doesn't want you to be stranded far from help in case it pops out again. Nothing wrong with that.

A few years ago there was a rash of servo cover pop-outs on recently serviced 4L60Es on the ISSF. As near as I could figure out, the culprit was that the ends of the snapring were near those two access grooves on the servo itself. Ideally, the end of the snapring should be kept between the 9:00 and 12:00 positions on the servo housing to avoid stressing the areas near the grooves.

Thanks Joel.

I don't know if he put it on 9 or 12 oclock, he did say it snapped into place.

Should I drive it normally, and god with the flow ???????

Thanks, Kenny...................
