Fluid check, bled check, Flushed the heater core ... nope ... one hose hot one not...looks like we'll be draining and flushing the core ... several times I'm sure! - Any suggestions on a way to just flush the heater core vs. the entire system ( the radiator is brand new as is the coolant resivour)?

Gary - Not sure a new cluster will help Rob said his was working ...but it blanks out too might be dash/harness related?

Pop the hoses off the heater core at the firewall (plug the hoses to avoid losing all the coolant), and stuff a garden hose in one of the heater core tubes...until things start to flow well, stuff the garden hose into the other tube...to back flush it all, repeat. This will be the messiest way to do this, but the only way to do it without draining/flushing the entire cooling system.

To make it just a little less-messy... if you have some extra lengths of hose that you can clamp onto the heater core tubes...install them, and do all of this with the hoses routed (carefully) over the fender. When you are done flushing, just remove the extra lengths of hose, reconnect the heater hoses to the core, and purge the air out of the system.
